melicia's first photo shoot - 2.6.02

equipment: Olympus D-370 digital camera, sitting on a stool for height.

setting: my bedroom floor, with sheets, blankets and pillows.

model: scared silly!!

i took the suggestions people made on the bondage.com forums, like putting up a sheet behind me so i wouldn't worry about my walls and floors, other details like have my favorite things around so i felt comfortable. i lit candles, cinnamon incense, and got my 3 favorite pillows: one is a big peace sign, the other two are velvet and just say "Peace" ... which if you've read what i write personally, you'll understand. *soft smile*

i set the camera on the stool, framed in the area, and set the camera for "timer" shot by propping it up from the back about 1/8". i found out that my camera will only allow 12 seconds total for timer shots! so i deleted a lot of shots of me trying to get settled into the trash *lol* finally i figured out how to settle into a position, then lean forward, hit the button, and just settle back into the position.

here are the results ...

two of my Peace pillows *smile* and a blanky because i am way too nervous.

after a lot of deleted shots of me scrambling into place as the timer went off, finally a pose i really liked. i'm wearing a black satin teddy pulled down to just barely cover my breasts, i did not want to go R-rated on my first photo shoot! i'm wearing all my fave Mexican jewelry from a trip to Tijuana. my favorite piece is the jingly ankle bracelet made of little silver bells, i love the sound of it when i move!

yayy! finally the shot i was thinking of!!
there's all my peace pillows, and i figured i might as well look at the camera instead of trying to be all artsy.

without my glasses ... and blind as a brick! just to show you i DO have eyes. but i will be wearing glasses in most of my photos!

after the shoot ... back in uniform *grin*

thoughts: i really enjoyed doing this ... after about half an hour of feeling stiff and awkward! i would definitely feel better if i had a photographer. but i'm glad i'm learning how to do my own photo shoots. i will look into accessories that might let me extend the timer on my camera (i wonder if they have one of those buttons-at-the-end-of-a-cord thingies they have for regular cameras?) i didn't have to edit anything other than painting out the background above the sheets ... and i had to use the "burn" tool in my image editor to darken the center of the photos ... my skin is so pale, it reflects the flash like white paper! luckily this camera cleans up the red-eye for me.

it was fun to dress up just in jewelry, lipstick and a little teddy. i might go for more "glam" next time. i feel a little shaky, this was a huge step for me, but also a little more confident.
